Well here we are up at the top of the Siamese Twins trail in the Garden of the Gods. You should notice Cognac is putting on weight, and she can run me up these hills now, getting acclimated to the altitude. Baboo probably took six pictures before we both kind of looked his way. Bubbles was holding us and trying to get us to look at Baboo, but we just wanted to run around.

Decorating the Tree - What's That About
Now I still don't quite understand what they are doing? Baboo brought up these boxes, and now Colton and Zachary are hanging things on the tree. Of course Cognac is not a bit interested, just her couch potato self.
Now this stuff looks pretty intesting.
Some of these things are pretty soft, kind of chewable.
They just keep putting things on the tree.
Colton you need any help with that?
Bubbles why don't you give Colton this one, it's pretty cool.
Ok then give it to Zachary.
No then why not give it to me.
Now this is the silliest looking tree I've ever seen, but I guess they are done.
Boy it's sure hard work helping them decorate that tree.
Chilling with My Bubbles
The Tree's up, see it in the background, I'm still trying to figure that out a tree in the house and lights on. Coganc doesn't seem to care, she just likes to chill on the couch.
But Bubbles has to bug me like I bug Coganc.
She's always just hugging me, kissing, and calling me George. But I have to admit this is the life.
Rough Housing
I'm sure glad Cognac is getting more playful, she likes to rough house with me on the couch now, it's fun.
She may be older, but I'm going to get her when I can.
Taking a break.

It's Snowing Cognac it's Snowing ! ! !
It's called Snow Cognac, isn't it great, I just love the snow. I know you probably haven't seen it before but it's fun, trust me.
Of course Cognac get's a little snow on her and runs back into the couch, what am I going to do with this girl, I guess it's going to take longer to make her a mountain dog.
Come on Cognac lets go back out and play in the snow.
That Cognac she's just such a couch potato. Wait until we get lots of snow, then I'll get her back out there. Or when we go to the mountains and there is snow, just wait.

Belly Rub
I go outside and Cognac just wants to have her belly rubbed, what a little hussy. I'm standing at the back door, come on guys you can let me back in, maybe I'd like my belly rubbed too. See me at the door, looking so forlorn and in the dark.

Path Less Traveled
The Garden of the Gods is so close and such a cool place to hike, but they have these strange rules about dogs on a leash, so we take the "Path Less Traveled" and never see anyone so guess what "We Don't Need No Stinking Leashes".
It's an old stream bed that goes on forever.
Cognac seemed to like it.
But the best part is chase...and playing.
For a city girl Cognac does pretty good, still getting used to the altitude, so afterwards nothing like a nap.
Even we mountain dogs like to relax after a hike in the Garden.

Kisses for Bubbles
Yeah there that Cognac goes kissing up to Bubbles, like she's going to give her a treat, ha, I know better.
The Birdie Deck
The "Birdie Deck" is off the bedroom and it gets some nice sun, so Cognac and I are enjoying a nice day.

It's Great to Have a Place so Close to Hike
Well it was a beautiful Sunday morning, so Baboo took Cognac and myself to the Garden of the Gods for a little hike.
There are two trails Bubbles and I usually do, this morning, Baboo took us up the Siamese Twins trail, we're at the top here. That's Pike's Peak in the background with the lonely cloud over it.
Cognac did pretty good being a former flat lander.
But when we got home, she didn't even make it up the stairs and chose the downstairs couch instead.
Nothing like a little nap after a hike.
Me I went upstairs got on the big couch and got my pillow for a rest.

A New Member of the Family
Meet Cognac. Cuervo has a new sister. She came to us from the West LA German Shepherd Rescue http://www.sheprescue.org/. They have a satellite here in Colorado. Her name was Greta, but you know Bubbles and Babbo that didn't quite fit. She's a little older than me, but quite a bit smaller. She came after a long journey with 5 other German Shephers being rescued and finding their forever homes in Colorado. They all came in a heated horse trailer with two horses. I won't tell you about the aroma, but needless to say when we got her home Baboo got in the shower with her, and she smells alot better now.
I showed her around the house. We didn't get home until almost 1130 at night after picking her up.
I showed her where the water is, she was thirsty after the long ride from Boulder.
I showed her my toy box, and she found a bone.
My toy box is pretty full so I'll share everything.
Then we had a little play time after that pent up energy of sitting in the car. I rode up and met her so I was two hours in the car up and two hours back.
Then it was time for Cognac to take a quick nap on the couch and we had to wake her up so we could all go to bed.

Toys Aren't So Tuff
Bubbles and Baboo are always searching for toys I can't destroy. They found this one brand that ranked it's toys by toughness scale up to 10.
I've had a 10 and guess what it lasted pretty long...
but this was a number 9 ...
Keep looking Bubbles and Baboo.

Back to Hiking in Colorado
It was Sunday and a nice day in Manitou Springs, but we thought we would go to our favorite hiking spot for a few hours. So headed to the Craggs. There were a few cars in the lot so we chose to go up the Devils Playground trail or as we call it the "trail less traveled", so I can be off leash alot. Cross that first bridge and guess what "snow"...I LOVE SNOW.
It wasn't very deep but I made the best of it.
Then it was time to keep going, so come on Bubbles and Baboo.
More snow, the higher we got, in the trees there was more snow.
Went off trail to my favorite stream, but something wasn't right. What happened to the water Baboo?
It's all cold...like snow.
Something just isn't right.
Maybe if I dig in it...
We kept going, as we got out of the trees, we left the snow behind, here I am on a rock.
Then Bubbles and Baboo caught up with me, and I got a picture with Bubbles on a rock.
Boy after going up that trail, it sure is nice to take a nap for the ride home.
