My New Favorite Place - A BIG Swimming Hole

There is a reservoir in Colorado Springs (provides drinking water), where they will let dogs go swimming.  It's really popular.  It's funny because there is a big sign that says no "humans" can touch the water, but we "DOGS" can, ha, ha.  On a hot day that's funny.  You can see in the picture it's a long walk from the parking lot to the water.

Last time we were there, and rounded the corner there were lots of doggies already in the water.  That's me in the middle with the ball.

I get close to shore, I drop it.  Bubbles and Baboo say I still won't bring it to them, so I must be a "half way there" retriever.

I can really swim far to get the ball.

Don't let this picture fool you, I didn't bring it all the way up to Baboo.

This is "Bear" we played alot.  His dad says he doesn't like to go in the deep water, but we ran along the shallow side.

Bears got the stick, and I've got a ball.

Here I am looking for a stick that's under water. 

Nothing like a good shake after you get out of the water.

Cuervo's Stockade

For those of you who have been following the blog, the fence posts are no longer what you see.  This is the stockade Baboo has been building me.

You can see to the right of this picture the opening left.  And of course Baboo was out of pickets, so he had to find more.  They were all out at the saw mill near Woodland Park, so he had to go to Longmont, 110 miles one way.

So he borrowed Mikey's truck, and got them home.

Unloaded them all and kept on working.

The pile has gotten a bit smaller so I'm helping supervise, making sure he gets the right ones out.

At this point, I'm finding sticks in the yard, cleaning up for Baboo.  It's not quite done yet, just a couple of gates to build, but Baboo, has put some lattice work over the gate openings, so I can wander around in my yard.  Reminds me of Fort Courage or somplace out west.

My Cousins

I like it when my cousins come to play.  Eveyone knows how much I like to get under things, well even with the stools back under the table.  I wasn't going to let Zachary get under here and have all the fun so I joined him.  It is getting a little tight.

Here we all are in the throne.  It's not quite big enough for Colton to sit too, but that's ok, as long as I get to be comfortable.

Top of the Crags

I made it to the top of the Crags Trail first.  Quite the view and really windy.

I was really checking things out and Bubbles got nervous, so guess what she put me on a leash.

Swimming Hole on Crags Trail

Early in the morning, we decided to take the trail most traveled before it got crowded.  Here I am waiting for Bubbles and Babbo "again", seems I'm always leading the way.

Wow, a "BIG" swimming hole.  I think this Crags trail is better than the Devils Playground trail, I only found a "little" swimming hole there.  This is my first time "REALLY" swimming.

Bubbles and Babbo, look at me swim.

Here I come.

Look out it's shake shake shake time.

I sure liked running around in these hills on the way back to camp.  That cool water and fresh air just makes you want to run around.

I'm in the lead and on a rock, can't wait to get back to camp.

Wow what a day, time to take a break, hiking and swimming, what more can you want, but a good nights sleep.
